smile1 (4K) Fundraising is one of the very important work areas that any nonprofit has to undertake as it is these funds raised which support all other programs. AARDA receives no support from any governmental agency and must rely on its own fund-raising efforts to support its research, education, awarness and support programs.

We are proud to say that our management and fundraising expenses are under 10 percent of our income. We depend on volunteers to raise the funds needed. many grassroots fund-raising efforts are conducted by volunteers who have an autoimmune disease or a family member with one.

	Ultramarathoner Ben Clark Running 400 Miles for Charity

	Ultramarathoner Ben Clark, 21, runs 400 miles to raise research dollars for AARDA A North Dakota State University student will start running on August 12 and run 400 miles in order to raise money for AARDA. Ben plans to run a three mile loop around the campus -- 135 times! Ben's goal is to raise $10,00 to support research for autoimmune disease. It is a "family affair" for Ben as his Mom suffers from MS and his Dad suffers from peripheral neuropathy. Here is a link to his fundraising page on FirstGiving. 	CFC, or Combined Federal Campaign, is the payroll deduction plan for charity that's used by all federal government workers. Every federal employee selects from a large list the charity to which he/she wants his or her donation to go. If you are (or if you know) a federal worker, we hope that you'll choose, or ask the worker to choose, the Autoimmune Diseases Association at pledge time this fall. Our CFC number is 10548.
