"Immunodeficiencies and Autoimmune Diseases"
A Scientific Colloquium

Call for Abstracts
Due September 15, 2009


Section 1: Abstract Form
1. Your abstract must contain:
    a. A descriptive title and list of authors and institutions
    b. An introduction/rationale for the study
2. The methods used, the results and the conclusions of the study
3. Abstract must be in English and not exceed 400 words.
4. Special symbols, such as Greek letters, must be spelled out (e.g., TNF-alpha).
5. Abstracts will be selected based on suitability of the subject to the theme of the conference "Immunodeficiencies and Autoimmune Diseases."

Section 2: Abstract Submissions
1. Your abstract must be submitted by e-mail to: khurley@aarda.org no later than September 15, 2009
2. E-mail subject line should read: "Abstract for Immunodeficiencies and Autoimmune Diseases Colloquium"
3. Include contact information with your name, institution, telephone and e-mail.
4. Attach your 3-page NIH biosketch and/or resume.

Section 3: Abstract Review
1. Abstracts must meet acceptable scientific and ethical standards and be unpublished.
2. Any abstract submission may be reproduced, compiled and displayed at the conference.
3. An advisory committee will review the abstracts and select those with the highest relevance to meeting topic.

Section 4: Selection Notification
1. All relevant abstracts will be posted.
2. Five young investigators will be selected to attend scientific colloquium with most expenses paid by AARDA.
3. Young investigators will be defined as post doctorate and/or assistant professor or lower.
4. There are five scholarships available, but they will be offered only to academic post doctoral students. Corporate post-doctorates will be allowed to present posters but will not be eligible for scholarships.
5. Top five young investigators, corporate or academic, will be chosen to make oral presentations of their posters.
6. Notifications will go out by e-mail by Mid-October.

Section 5: Arrangements for Attending All-Expense Paid Scientific Colloquium
1. The young investigators who win the 5 scholarships to attend the conference will be entitled to attend the scientific colloquium "Immunodeficiencies and Autoimmune Diseases," scheduled for November 13-15, 2009, in Baltimore, Maryland, at the Harbor Court Intercontinental Hotel.
2. Once selected, the investigators will be sent speaker packets which will include information about travel arrangements and other instructions.
