Item Pink Kylee's Bodybuilding Fundraiser for Autoimmune Disease Research

 Congratulations Kylee!

You've raised $414.00 for the American Autoimmune Related Diseases Association!!!

Kylee

My name is Kylee Allison Spence. I am training right now for my first bodybuilding competition. I am doing this because I think being healthy is really important. My family and I have had a rough time with health. My brother Tyler has an autoimmune disease that affects his guts; his quality of life is poor. His spirits keep him alive. I on the other hand got lucky and my immune system only attacks my thyroid. I want to use what I am doing at the gym to get the ball rolling with awareness. So the deal is, for how many repetitions I can do in leg presses, dumbbell thrusters, sit-ups, and pull-ups within three minutes, you donate however much money for every repetition. The funds will go to the study of all autoimmune disease related illnesses.

I will be tested on each exercise on Thursday, August 19, 2010. Please return to this site to find out my final numbers!

Fundraising Event - Money per Rep

  • Leg Press - The leg press is a seated leg extension and flexion motion similar to a squat.
  • Squats - The knees and hips are bent to lower the torso and accompanying weight, then returned to the upright position.
  • Sit-ups - Lie flat on the back, hands behind the head, sit up without the aid of any other muscle groups, touch the knees with the elbows, then return to the starting position.
  • Pull-ups - The body is suspended by extended arms, gripping a fixed bar, then pulled up until the elbows are bent and the head is higher than the hands, utilizing an overhand grip.
