Autoimmune diseases are chronic and often debilitating in nature and extremely difficult to diagnose. Therefore, AARDA has created a series of educational modules to provide accessible and current educational autoimmunity information to those impacted by autoimmune disease. The learned information can equip patients, caregivers, healthcare providers, and any curious individual with information that can lead to a timelier diagnosis thus reducing the burden of high medical costs and delayed treatment. A timely, proper diagnosis can lead to appropriate treatment, and ultimately a healthier better quality of life for those living with autoimmune disease.
These educational modules will address the lack of autoimmune disease awareness among the public and provide needed information for the undiagnosed persons experiencing possible autoimmune disease symptoms and seeking a diagnosis. The programs will also address the need for patients and healthcare providers to receive information to better understand autoimmune clusters within the category of autoimmune diseases (gastrointestinal, neurological, etc.); giving more educational attention to learning about rare autoimmune diseases.
