Metro Detroit Walkabout & Public Forum

August 24 @ 8:00 am - 2:00 pm EDT

This year, AARDA has reinvented our traditional outdoor Walk as an indoor Walkabout at the VisTaTech Center on the campus of Schoolcraft College!  Teams and individuals can Walk a one-mile route as many times as they wish in support of family members, friends and others dealing with autoimmune disease, but also visit dozens of exhibitors, nonprofit partners and vendors with a focus on the health and wellness of autoimmune patients and families.  Participants will network, gather information and resources, get health screenings, watch demonstrations and enjoy live entertainment in the cool and comfort of the center.

Just across the hall in the Kerhl Auditorium, AARDA will present “What Every American Needs to Know about Autoimmune Disease.”  This Public Forum includes noted speakers on a variety of autoimmune topics, such as “What is Autoimmunity?”, “Coping with Autoimmune Disease” and “Autoimmunity and Women.”  A question-and-answer session follows each presentation and participants will take away a wealth of information and resources.

For individual and team registration, please visit and select Metro Detroit Walkabout & Public Forum.  Questions may be directed to or (855) 239-2557.

Funds raised will be directed to autoimmune patient education, support services and research.
