Workplace giving is the process of making automatic regular donations to causes you believe in through your employer’s payroll system. It is a simple and cost efficient way to donate to AARDA. You can change or stop your donations at any time. It’s easy and is tax deductible.
Won’t you please help make a significant and lasting impact in our fight against autoimmune diseases by donating on pledge card day at work? As you can see by our awards and certifications (see below), we perform efficiently and spend our money wisely.
- CFC, or Combined Federal Campaign, is the payroll deduction plan for charity that’s used by all federal government workers. Every federal employee selects from a large list the charity to which he/she wants his or her donation to go. If you are (or if you know) a federal worker, we hope that you’ll choose, or ask the worker to choose, the Autoimmune Diseases Association at pledge time this fall. Our CFC number is 10548 .
- State employee campaigns are payroll deduction campaigns for charity just like the CFC campaign except that they’re for state employees. We are currently in the plans of CT, CA, FL, IL, MD, MI, MO, PA, TX, VA, WA, and WI. If you know any state employees in those states, please ask them to select the Autoimmune Diseases Association on their pledge card day at work. Code numbers vary, but our name is usually enough.
- Other workplace campaigns (including United Way) are too numerous and varying to give many specifics, but many do offer employees the opportunity to donate to specific charities through payroll deduction. Many plans even allow you to write-in a charity that is not in the booklet. The write-in system is a good and convenient way to donate, but it’s also a good idea to be sure that your company allows write-in charities. If they don’t, you’ll be doing us a big favor by suggesting that next year the company includes us in the campaign booklet!
In any case, it’s always important with write-ins to give our address along with our name. Giving our E.I.N. number, 38-3027574 , would further enable your company to recognize our legitimacy. If your company does not have a Workplace Giving Program or if Autoimmune Diseases Association is not one of the listed charities, please let us know and we will gladly contact them on your behalf.
Matching Gift Programs
Millions of dollars are not given to charities because employees do not utilize employer Matching Gift Programs. Matching Gift Programs are offered by many companies and provide employees with an opportunity to double their donation to a charity. Talk to your payroll or HR department to see if your company offers one and how to participate. AARDA is pleased to provide information about our organization to companies considering matching employee gifts to us. Just let us know!
