The world clearly shifted in March, with the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic and associated collapse of faceto-face convenings and travel. AARDA immediately transitioned to work-from home and stepped up virtual engagement with patients, patient groups, practitioners, and partners.
In early April, LMDD launched a virtual campaign to inform and engage the Dermatology Community, that would otherwise have convened in Denver, through our Escape the System: Stop the Madness of Step Therapy interactive exhibit, and fresh messaging specifically designed for this audience. Our presentation was expanded to include dermatology-related patient stories, new facts, interviews, and quotes from dermatologists who are on the front lines of grappling with step therapy, utilization management, and other barriers that get in between them, their patients, and the medicines they need to manage their conditions, avoid flairs, and lead healthy lives.
“Fail first or step therapy is one obstacle we see all of the time in our care settings. It is a significant hurdle that we have to try to tackle in terms of trying to get the right medication for the right patient at the right time” —Dr. Avery LaChance
